Job Title: Fabrication Project Manager/Sales

Reports to: Owner         

Job Summary:

The Fabrication Sales and Project Manager will develop leads, create quotes, communicate, and implement the operating vision, meet quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction while striving for continuous improvement and growth.  This role reports directly to the Company Owner.

Direct supervision of employees and processes required.

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Manager floor execution from work order, through completion, and delivery.
  • Workstation and onsite scheduling and time management
  • Accountable for meeting or exceeding the safety, quality, delivery, and cost expectations.
  • Ensures plans are developed and executed to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Monitors project time, waste, and down time.
  • Manage to eliminate waste, duplicating work, down time, and overtime.
  • Accountable for meeting overhead expense budget and direct report daily objectives.
  • Manage inventory, shipping and receiving.
  • Support customer proposals by reviewing and providing the basis of estimates for labor and scheduling conflicts.
  • Ensure the work environment is clean and safe.
  • Establish and maintain training options and deploy resources accordingly.
  • Quality control on all work and deliveries
  • Hands on fabrication will be required daily.
  • Other duties as they are assigned.

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Develop personal sales strategies and forecast reports to maintain busy fabrication schedules.
  • Be in constant contact with customers visiting, mailing, video conferencing or phoning with follow ups.
  • Responsible for expanding customer base while maintaining an accurate CRM.
  • Managing a new customer target list.
  • Researching market to best quote new targets.
  • Develop new leads by cold calling, networking, marketing, and social media.
  • Set and meet key performance indicators for soliciting sales and projected sales.
  • Prepare quotes and sales orders as required.
  • Forecast and present sales goals and expected book of business.
  • Being a liaison regarding pickup and delivery of parts and customer service to customer is also a part of workday.
  • Act as point of contact to resolve client issues or complaints.
  • Support the internal team, work with management to determine shop capabilities, conduct ride along with management on client visits.

Experience Preferred:

  • 2+ years fabrication project sales.
  • 2+ years’ experience supervising fabrication projects.
  • 5+ years hands on Fabrication experience
  • Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment using welders, cutters, shapers and measuring tools.
  • Produce metal products according to customer or employer specifications.
  • Use multiple welding machines to repair and maintain metal equipment and structures of various sizes.
  • Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, and blueprints to determine operations, required materials and timeframes for projects.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment.
  • Understand and implement personal and company safety measures by wearing specialized goggles, helmets, and gloves.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project Management & PowerPoint)
